Pulling off a tastefully skeletonized watch layout can be rough, but it is safe to state that Armin Strom does an excellent job. They kept everything that made the original Edge Double Barrel attractive and upped the ante with an opulent yet tasteful rose gold case. It appears that Mr. Edge, the group’s futuristic mascot (seen previously) created by Biel artist Herbert Kracke, has also received his own metallic update for this specific release. The dial is mostly black and gray, which provides a pleasing contrast with the rose gold case. The inner chapter ring is also black with white indices and encompasses a set of highly legible, rose gold numerals. The rest of the dial includes a profound skeletonized design that showcases an impressive set of dual mainspring barrels and the brand’s ARM16 motion, which we’ll return to shortly. The rose gold palms are prominent, lumed, and match the remainder of the design perfectly. Moreover, the dial includes a subsidiary seconds dial which also serves as a power reserve indicator with a small touch of red to tie everything together. It’s a big watch, measuring 46.8millimeters in diameter, together with 50 meters of water resistance, and sporting a sapphire caseback and crystal with anti-reflective coating. A elevation of 13.2mm must create the Armin Strom Edge Double Barrel reasonably wearable with only enough thickness to showcase the dimensionality of this skeletonized design.
